HBL960 Brushless Titanium Gear High Torque Digital Servo
This is an MKS HBL960 Brushless Titanium Gear High Torque Digital Servo. designed by MKS Servo, is perfect for high performance cyclic helicopter applications. MKS brushless servos are best in class in build construction and performance.
About Brushless Servos
Brushless Servos have a permanent magnet rotor and three sets of drive coils. The drive coils are controlled by a set of electronic high speed switches (Field Effect Transistors) so there is both less inertia and less friction. The lower inertia allows the servo to get off center faster and stop faster, and less friction means less heat and less wear.
Brushed motors have a set of wound coils called an armature and a mechanical rotary switch that uses a series of brushes as pickups called a commutator. The mechanical rotary switch is a mechanical failure point that eventually wears out, and the wound coils have a bit of inertia.
